DISCOVER YOURSELF

Winston Churchill said "There comes a time in the life of a man, the moment for which he was born, when he seizes it, that is his finest hour.

We’ll be looking at the theme, DISCOVER YOURSELF

This is one of the most powerful weapons successful people use to explore their potentials and inspire the world. It is sad to state that of all the people in the world only 15% discover themselves, 50% never discover themselves and 35% wish they discover themselves but are not willing to pay the price

Aristotle said "Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom"

So if you don’t know yourself, you cannot succeed in life. Let’s take a look at the life of Nelson Mandela, the President of South Africa between 1994 and 1999, and the man who amidst all oppositions discovered himself and know how he did it.

Nelson Mandela was born in 1918 to a polygamous family of 4 wives and 13 children. At age 9, he lost his father so his mother took him to go stay with a chief in town. For this reason he changed school. There he met one of his teachers who influenced his thinking positively. Also he was exposed to history and he discovered that is the line he really wanted to thread in life. Little wonder why he made this statement while he was about to be sentenced to jail. He said "It is an ordeal for which I am ready to live but my Lord, if need be, it’s an ordeal for which I’m prepared to die"

His initial plan was to become a mere councilor in his village but after the exposure and the journey to self-discovery, h decided to go into politics as a lawyer. For this reason he was able to create the first black law firm in South Africa. He is seen as the Savior of South Africa, the Father of the Nation because he discovered himself.

As you can see from the life of Nelson Mandela who discovered himself through reading books especially about people, researching into history to see people that had his type of passion and how they used it, that’s the same way you are as well going to discover yourself. Identify your passion and check into history the persons that had the same or similar passion and what they did with it. You can as well attend seminars, conferences, meet people, research into history, and ask questions from successful people. These will help you to discover who you really are and who you are meant to be on the inside.

Remember the words of Mahatma Gandhi who said, the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in service to others.
